Introduction
The Colour-Science Image Editor is used to produce the
best possible print quality on any digital printer. Two main features assure
high print quality. The Colour-Science Color Management combined with our
excellent i2e image enhancement technology.
The Image Editor is designed for very fast work. You
work much faster then with traditional software like Photoshop or similar.
Images are displayed already precorrected and all additional correction and
image saving can be done very fast with the minimum of human movements
possible. Corrections can be made using the mouse-wheel and saving is made
using the right mouse button.
Today we
observe two main problems with digital printing:
1st
Problem:
It is difficult to control the image quality on
different digital printers so that contrast, density and saturation are always
the same. Even if a printer is well calibrated there are quite big differences
from one printer to the other because linearising a grayscale does not mean that the colors
of a print look the same. There are big differences between ink-jet printers and
digital printers printing on silver-halide paper
-> the Colour-Science solution:
Every printer has to be ICC profiled. This makes sure
that the print qualities of all the different printers match one (industry)
standard. The fact that the printers are carefully profiled opens you the doors
to the professional market.
2nd
Problem:
It is not possible for the lab to print the same
customer image on different digital printers with the same result because every
printer uses a different image enhancement system.
-> the
Colour-Science solution:
The i2e image enhancement is put in front of the
printers. This way the image enhancement is the same for every printer. The
image enhancement of the digital printers is switched off.
