Raw file and preprocessing settings

Image Editor allows you to load uncompressed 8 or 16 bit RAW files directly. Because the RAW file itself has no information about the type and the size of the file you have to set these parameters manually in the above RAW file settings box.
In order to enable RAW support for Nikon or Canon cameras you have to download and install the following RAW-drivers
Nikon RAW support:
http://www.colour-science.com/IE/NikonRAW.exe
Canon RAW support:

Preprocessing

Sometimes images need some preprocessing to make them ready for the i2e image enhancement. These are mostly 16 bit per channel RAW images which need this processing. You can do the following preprocessing:
Camera gamma precorrection
The i2e image enhancement algorithms need an original image which is more or less normally exposed. If the incoming images are for example all much to dark then the i2e brightness correction will not be able to do a correction which is strong enough. With the gamma correction you can precorrect the images so that they are more or less normally exposed.
Invert image
Some negative scanners will save inverted (negative) images. Here you can invert them on loading.
Color temperature
The color temperature setting controls the illuminant temperature (in degrees Kelvin) used during the processing of the next digital camera raw image processed. The ColorTemperature must be set within the range 4000 to 25000 inclusive. If set to outside that range then either the “As Shot” settings for the raw file or an automatic white balance setting will be used.
The following temperature values correspond to common illumination conditions:
1500 Candlelight
2680 40 W incandescent lamp
3000 200 W incandescent lamp
3200 Sunrise/sunset
3400 Tungsten lamp
4500 Xenon lamp/light arc
5500 Sunny daylight around noon
5500 Electronic photo flash
7000 Overcast sky
10,000 Blue sky
The following file types support color temperature presetting:
DigitalNeGative (DNG), FujiFilms (RAF), Leica (RAW), Minolta (MRW),
Olympus (ORF), Panasonic (RAW) , Pentax (PEF), and Sony (SRF) images.
